Legal Assistance services also provides support for you and your drivers’ personal legal needs, including but not limited to, family legal services, matters related to property including hidden defects and tenant concerns, estate planning, and consumer transactions and protections.
As part of Echelon Legal Assistance, you also have access to the following legal review services for your commercial and personal needs:
Reading of documents and review of contract up to four pages in length. (Limited to two per policy year)
Writing of letters to third parties. (Limited to four per policy year)
Support regarding calls to third parties. (Limited to four per policy year)
Negotiation with other parties or their representatives to reach a settlement. (Limited to four hours per policy year)
Legal Assistance - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Is there a limit to the number or duration of the calls?
No. You can call as often as necessary. The length of the calls is also unlimited.
- What are the hours of operation?
Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST, except on statutory holidays.
- Can I call for any legal questions? For example, questions related to my private life or my work.
Yes. You can ask us about any legal issue related to your private or professional life.
If a lawyer is unable to answer the question immediately, they will conduct the necessary research and contact you as soon as possible.
- Who are the lawyers who help us? What are their credentials?
Each lawyer on our team is licensed within his/her province. As a legal team, the vast collective experience of every member covers all the legal questions they receive. They are general practitioners representative of the community.
- Are my calls kept confidential?
All insureds’ legal calls are kept confidential. Our team of lawyers have an ethical duty of confidentiality. Our Legal Assistance providers also take measures to ensure the confidentiality of every discussion.
